New textures and finishes create softness and warmth; custom lighting defines and softly highlights intimate interior spaces; and an inset stone fireplace grounds the primary living room, affording an inviting space to nestle on a winter’s day, savouring vistas of sand, sky, and sea. Integration of the ensuite into the master bedroom the sense of luxury, with the opportunity to enjoy the expansive views from the tub.

The client’s sense of refined elegance guided the interiors, creating soft, light spaces with a contemporary edge. The palette of white, grey-blues, marbles and warm timbers is accented by polished chrome fittings. The traditional detailing at the front of the house is balanced by clean, contemporary lines towards the back, which is complemented by a modern exterior colour scheme. Floor to ceiling tiling in the bathrooms creates a sense of luxury, and the intelligent joinery conceals a breakfast bar and pantry within the kitchen.

The finishes were to reflect the textures of the site, be very durable and easy to maintain. On the main living level, we combined kitchen, living, dining, and laundry, and scaled the existing windows to create a beautiful light filled open plan space. New bi-fold doors opened onto an expanded timber deck surrounded by foliage, dappling the natural tones of the exterior palette, with soft afternoon light. The house had to have the formality demanded by its size and location, but still to feel like you could happily leave your shoes at the door.

The home has been designed for generous family living across two levels, with luxurious finishes. Surrounding the home, the extensively landscaped grounds feature a bold and eclectic mix of Australian native plants. The layout of the spaces emphasises the home’s connection with its surroundings, and this, combined with the architectural palette gives, a sense of timelessness and belonging. Within this tranquil setting lie the stables, pool, weathered timber pavilion, and kitchen garden, all created from materials that were already ageing beautifully, adding to the feeling that the residence has been here for a while.

At the ground level, the home’s GYM spaces and media room were given a refresh before we turned our attention outdoors, transforming the neglected terrace, pool, and garden to a sleek and sophisticated entertainment space.

Ideally positioned in an elevated location with a panoramic outlook across the canopies to the lights of East Sydney, the focus of our brief was to reconfigure the home in such a way to optimise space, natural light, and connection with environment, whilst opening more of the interior to the spectacular surrounding view.

It is a 4-bedroom house, with sun drenched outdoor terraces and lawns overlooking the beach. It also features a large internal garage, a sought-after asset in this location through the bustling summer months. The brief was to create a house that was contemporary, but which still had the qualities of a family beach house. It had to be warm, casual, and open, with comfortable open spaces.

Our idea was to create a second living space dedicated to relaxation and entertaining, the finished space provides a private contemporary retreat that fully embraces its prime location and invites relaxed engagement with its exceptional setting, bringing new life not only to the room itself, but also significantly enhancing the owners’ enjoyment of their prized ocean front pool terrace.

The brief was to create a modern home, that was warm and liveable, with an understated luxury to reflect the location. The home was also to be a backdrop to a varied and changing collection of art pieces. Key to achieving this was creating contrast using stone and wood on the floors, walls and ceilings, which were inspired by the home’s natural setting. The overall internal palette was kept neutral, to allow the art pieces to be the key elements of the spaces.

With a wide street frontage and a breathtaking outlook, the two-storey home was designed to make the most of the incredible location with living spaces positioned to capture the views, the warm sunlight, and the beautiful breeze.

With a full concrete and masonry structure, this solid home sits beautifully into its surroundings whilst withstanding all the elements. Featuring off form concrete elements and a sunken swimming pool with the structure of the first floor, there were some challenges with building this structure.
